The iconography of Vic Bell

In the midst of company redesign for Brian Hoff Design (yes, you read that right and 3 years of wanting to get around to this) and decided to go ahead with some custom icon work by the talented Vic Bell to represent the ‘We crafted the…’ section of the site.

Super excited to be working with her and if you’re looking for an iconography designer, she’s your woman! Give her most recent work a view over at Dribbble or her portfolio.

Photoshop CS6 improvements

I’ve been trialing the beta of Photoshop CS6 for almost a week now and I must say, kudos Adobe, you finally have listened to the masses. By far their best release to date, mostly due to features we’ve all been longing for: layer searching, layer styles on groups, copy and paste shape attributes, and paragraph and character styles (finally!!) – to name a few. Check out a more thorough list of CS6 improvements.

The interface brightness (you can make the entire UI various shades of grey) is also a plus. For the first release ever, I can honestly say I am stoked to by the full version when it’s released.

  3. Done! The extracted files are ready. Save, drag, copy or auto-repeat.

A growing collection of the best Google Web Fonts

A lovely growing website featuring the best of Google Web Fonts. I admit, when Google jumped into the web font pool, I was unimpressed by their selection. The quality and selection has much improved. Here’s to more beautiful type across the web.

Bunker App Giveaway: Manage projects and invoices

It’s that time again… Giveaway time! I love a good project management software, especially trying out new ones. Recently, one that has caught my attention was Bunker App.

Being the nice folks they are over at Bunker App, they’ve decided to give away eight (8) one-year subscriptions for free.

For those new to Bunker App, it’s a project management software with sleek, minimalist interface. Tasks such as project management, time tracking and invoicing clients is intuitive. I particularly enjoy the unique URLs invoices create to send to clients. It’s also web-based, so everything is on the go and where you need it.

In order to win, tweet about this giveaway with a link to this post and the hashtag #bunkerapp (the hashtag is important as this will be how we’ll be tracking entries).

The Manual issue #2 is out

The Manual issue #2 is out! Having already read issue #1, I can’t wait to get my hands (and eyes) on the new one. This issue boasts stories and life / work lessons from six new influential voices within our community: Karen McGrane, Mark Boulton, Josh Brewer, Alex Charchar, Trent Walton, and Cennydd Bowles.

From a design standpoint, issue #1 was a printed masterpiece. Care was spent not only in words, but in production as well, and certainly #2 won’t disappoint in that department as well.
