Freepik, our friends from sunny Spain just did it again. They pushed out a new project by the name of flaticon.com. Flaticon.com is a platform hosting more than 11,000 icons, all in the looks of the ever so popular flat design trend. This week they added a brand-new Photoshop plugin to the free service. Olympic pictograms through the ages

Designer and AIGA Medalist Steven Heller commentates on Olympic pictograms through the ages in this short video from the New York Times (embedded above).

It’s hard to argue with the two sets Heller gives most praise to — those for Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 (both shown toward the end of the video). My personal favourite are the Beijing pictograms. Clean. Contemporary. Appropriate.

Pictodeck Icon Set: Over 700 Free Pictograms for Keynote


Today we are glad to release Pictodeck, a set of over 700 pictograms in vector format designed specifically for Keynote. That means you can rescale them to any size you desire without any loss in quality. All of the icons also support transparency. The set was created by Aaron Richard. The icons are from four different sets: PICOL, Android Icons, Pictoico, and Freshpixel. All are licensed slightly differently under Creative Commons. Please respect their copyrights.

The last slide contains a series of 32×32 bitmap icons for popular social networking sites. These icons were created by Komodo Media, which has also graciously chosen to license them under the Creative Commons.
